IT'S OCTOBER!

Published on 1 October 2020 at 18:51

Yes you heard me right! IT'S OCTOBER! the most wonderful time of the year. The time of year all my favourite colours come out to play, the time of year when all my favourite films come on television and the best thing of all those cosy nights in - what more could a girl ask for?,

Don't get me wrong I don't mind Summertime but -

1. I am a Ginge, so this means I burn easily so an hour in the sunshine I look like a lobster and the freckles are out (DO NOT get my started on freckles) I hate them! my body is covered in them and I just don't like them on me (which I know sounds silly because there is absolutely nothing I can do about them). All the beautiful women out there that can pull freckles off so nicely and just look flawless with their stunning freckles then there is me! and I have no idea why on earth they became a beauty trend! CRAZY.

2. I have IIH (Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension) with this and sunshine trust me they really are not a good mix. I just end up with a crushing headache and feeling like I have just done 10 rounds in the boxing ring! It just really isn't worth a quick sunbathe, and to be honest I don't sit still long enough to be a sunbather (If sunbather is even a word).

So, this is why I love Autumn and Winter time, this also gives me an excuse to hybernate and be a professional SLOTH, read all the books I want (honestly I have so many books on my 'TO READ' list I just haven't gotten round to either read them or even purchase them) and drink all the tea in the world, I am guilty of being the biggest tea drinker in the world, I would happily come 'FIRST PLACE' if some incredible human invented a tea drinking contest..... Oh, and play all the SIMS I want, I am such a GEEK when it comes to the Sims, I end up downloading so much CC for my game my sims look like something from 2023! If I have anyone who plays THE SIMS please do get in touch I would love to hear about your Sims journey (I have been playing since the Sims first launched) like I said GEEK!.

I recently went through my wardrobe, to be quite honest it really is a good job I like this time of year! my wardrobe consisted of mainly Jumpers, Jeans, Dresses and Hoodies. I found this quite funny, my shoe collection is just as bad to be honest as I own quite a few pairs of Boots and Trainers and out of all of those I live in my slippers!. I just love living in my comfy jumpers and a nice pair of joggers (the best pairs I own are from PRIMARK). When I do go out on the odd occasion with friends or with my partner I do like to wear Mustard colours or Neutral colours I tend to find as well these colours go nice with my hair colour (Ginger)!. I know what your thinking "Jade what on earth has clothes got to do with you hair colour?" hear me out.

So, I have been in this situation a couple of times where I have gone in to a shop found a really nice top tried it on and it has looked really nice on it fits perfectly but, it hasn't matched with my hair colour and looks stupid!, sometimes with Blue colours and especially Purple!, I am sure there are women out there who are with me on this one....

I also love this time of year because I get to finally bring my millions of Coats and Jackets out of the closet. I am a sucker for a nice coat to finish off a outfit. This time of year you honestly can't beat a fresh Autumn walk, collecting those Instagram photos and we can't forget conker picking - I have so many memories growing up walking miles with my grandparents trying to find conkers just to end up with bruised knuckles! I was not the strongest contestant when it came to a conker match let me tell you.

Then the best of all those cosy days and nights in - I have a lot of time on my hands, too much time (due to not being able to work) so I enjoy cosy days in. Sometimes when my body is having a bad day I like to get all cosy, put a couple of candles, put my salt lamp on, get dressed in a fresh set of pyjamas (I am obsessed with my pyjamas) and put on a good film.

Nigh times are even more cosy as we sometimes have the fire on and with a nice warm drink in your hand, wrapped in a warm blanket with your partner to me this just sounds like the perfect night in! all we need now is a good movie and I am sorry but hands down my favourite Halloween movie is The nightmare before christmas Jack and Sally are just the absolute BEST! I absolutely love Tim Burton films, you just know when you are watching TNBC you are close to Halloween I also really like Hocus Pocus. Now I have the perfect cosy night in.

I would really like to know what your guys perception of a 'cosy night in' is - Please email me goodlifezen@outlook.com

There has just been so much going on this year with Covid and my health not being great I just feel such at ease and so happy when Autumn comes around that I don't want to miss a moment! and make every minute count, watch every leaf change colour and make every night that cosy warm winter feeling.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this post as much as I have enjoyed writing and babbling away! I hope you are all staying safe but also living a beautiful and happy life.

Sending my love

Jade (GoodLifeZen)
